If the bride is still wondering why she has not seen the manifested power of GOD in her body through the authority she has received in the Name of Yeshua, perhaps it is due to the issues we have yet to fully address. It is not the most pleasant subject; however, it is the most crucial. It is the message of love and it comes in the form of repentance…repentance in the Name of Yeshua. It is the message John preached when paving the way for Mashiach. It is the message Peter preached while telling the people to repent and receive the Holy Ghost. It is the message Yeshua sent the apostles to preach when He dispatched them into the cities. Finally, it is the message Yeshua Himself preached saying, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 Repentance is the Message of the Gospel. Without the message of repentance, the bride would never even open the door.
When the bride accepts Christ as her redeemer, she is also required to turn away from sin. She should have a desire to repent as the Spirit draws her. This means to be remorseful for past sins and ask forgiveness. She should not have a desire to purposefully sin again. When the lady was caught in adultery Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8:11 When the lame man was healed at the pool of Bethesda Jesus said, “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” John 5:14 Jesus was calling them to repentance. This seems to be a very unpopular message in the body today. The subject of repentance is viewed as a message of condemnation, Hell fire, and fear. This could not be further from the truth.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
GOD desires everyone to be redeemed. It is for this purpose HE sent HIS Son. “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 There are no exceptions. If we call upon the Name of the Lord, we will be saved. “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:11-13 Salvation does not require works and we are not saved by the Law. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” Titus 3:5 and “…a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Romans 3:28
Salvation requires repentance. Repentance comes through the conviction of sin when we recognize our need for redemption. When Yeshua freely took the place of His bride, it was through grace. When she received His redemption, it was through faith. “We love him, because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19 Salvation is solely based on grace through faith. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 When we call upon the Name of the Lord with sincerity of heart and a repentant spirit, we become a new creation in Yeshua. This means we put away sin and walk in the regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. We do not turn back to sin like a pig to the mire.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
It is by free will we receive Yeshua and it is by free will we are able to reject Him. However, it is also by free will we continue to follow Him or turn away. To remain in Christ means to put our past sins away to become a new creation in Yeshua. Peter said, “It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.” 2 Peter 2:21 Believers in Yeshua are able to turn away from righteousness. Sin in the body of Christ grounded on “salvation in spite of regression” has been a false teaching in many churches, denominations, and by many popular TV Evangelists. Regression is defined as a return to an earlier condition or way of behaving. Yeshua clearly refutes this teaching of eternal security, but by no means does it take away from the grace He provided for us on Calvary. It simply means, as His bride, we can walk away from our Ketubah, but He never will. Yeshua is bound by His Word.
“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.” Hebrew 3:12-14
The author of Hebrews demonstrates our ability to depart from GOD. We cannot depart unless we are already abiding in HIM. Notice it also says those who depart have an evil heart. We do not need to be concerned we will lose our salvation every time we sin if we know our own heart. Being right with GOD does not mean we are perfect and without sin. It simply means we apply the blood of Yeshua to our sin, ask forgiveness, and move on. GOD knows our heart. It is enough we repent and turn from sin. The scripture continues with, “We are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence.” The word “if” is a conditional clause. This means we are made partakers of Christ “if” we continue in the faith. Therefore, we are able to turn back. In the parable of the sower, Jesus explained to His apostles, what He called, “…the mysteries of the kingdom of GOD.” Luke 8:10
In the parable the seed was the Word of GOD. There are those who receive the word with joy and for a while they believe, but in times of temptation, they fall away. If all we understood was this parable, it would be enough for us to know Yeshua did not preach eternal security. Yeshua clarified those who fell away were once believers. Therefore, it would be false to say a Christian was never a believer to begin with if he departs from the faith. The author of Hebrews is very explicit in their description of a believer who is able to fall away. They were once enlightened, tasted of the heavenly gift, were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the good Word of GOD and the powers of the world to come. The scripture clearly states a person with this type of faith is able to fall away. Consider the church in Sardis.
“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee….He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.” Revelation 3:3, 5
Yeshua was speaking to the believers in Sardis who had entered into the Ketubah with Him just as you and I. He called them to watch and be prepared as a bride watches for her groom. He wanted them to remember the gospel and stand firm in the faith and repent once again. He specifically established their names had already been written in the Lamb’s book of Life. If they overcome, the same shall be clothed in white. However, if they depart from the faith, their names will be blotted out. This is evident in the language, “He will not blot out their name if they overcome.” This is mentioned again at the end of the Revelation using the same language. “God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:19 This indicates a person who was once saved can turn away and be lost.
“Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:43-48
In this parable Jesus begins by comparing a faithful servant to a wicked one. The faithful servant is blessed and the wicked servant is cast out. By the end of the parable Yeshua plainly states the wicked servant will receive his portion with the unbelievers, and he will be held even more accountable for knowing the truth. This demonstrates the faithful servant and the wicked were both believers who served the same Master. In Yeshua’ most compelling teaching, however, He unequivocally demonstrates the fate of one who was cleansed through the Word but chose not to abide in Him. As the vine, Jesus compares us to branches. There are some which bear fruit and some which do not. Those who do not bear fruit are cast into the fire. The branches, or believers, who have been cleansed through the Word, but who do not continue to bear fruit or remain in Christ, will be cast into the fire along with the ones who never abided in Yeshua.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:1-6
Believing we are able to depart from the faith does not impose a work based salvation. It simply enforces salvation through freedom of choice. This was made clear in section two. The fruit we produce after salvation is based on the love we have in Mashiach. When we abide in Him, we desire to serve Him out of love not reward. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 Yeshua has provided our redemption from the curse of sin when He became a curse for us. We do not walk in fear of losing our salvation. If we receive what He provided, we have been redeemed. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1 Those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit are not condemned in their heart. When they sin, they simply repent and turn from the sin for Christ knows we are not perfect.
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one…For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:10, 23
Do not confuse conviction with condemnation. When our heart is convicted of sin through the Holy Spirit, we are led to repent and turn away from our sin. We do not continue to lay a foundation of repentance…we stop sinning. Condemnation is when we allow our sin to separate us from the grace of GOD in spite of the redemption He provided. This happens when we no longer feel worthy of His grace. News flash: we were never worthy to begin with. We never earned His love, redemption, or forgiveness. Why would it be any different when we fall? He simply picks us back up. Once again I say, the security of our salvation does not come through works, but through faith, both in receiving salvation and continued fellowship with Yeshua. Paul wrote, “… not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” Philippians 3:9
Paul also wrote to the church in Corinth saying, “Brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 Paul continued with Christ crucified for our sins, he was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures and that He was seen by many people. He wanted the people to understand they needed to stand firm in their belief and the gospel they received regarding the crucifixion and resurrection of Yeshua. Paul then said, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10
This is the gospel message Paul was preaching. Christ was crucified, rose from the dead according to the scriptures, and provided redemption through His death. Therefore, those who have believed his message would have “believed in vain” if they did not continue in the faith. Those who have “believed in vain” contrast with those who “are saved.” Paul warns believers to “hold firmly” or risk the loss of their salvation. He also addresses the issue of work based faith although he “labored more abundantly than anyone,” he tells us it was the grace of GOD working in him. Paul’s warning is clearly not theoretical. He substantiates this evidence when he tells Timothy to stand firm in the faith and to keep a good conscience. Hymenaeus and Alexander have turned away from their conscience, and have “shipwrecked” their faith who he has handed over to satan. These two men were obviously believers.
“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.” 1 Timothy 1:18-20
Those who oppose this view are not rejecting my interpretation of the scriptures; rather, they are ignoring and discarding the very distinct self-explanatory conditions of the Ketubah. This language of alienation and falling away is clearly taught by Yeshua. As believers, we walk in grace, and “Believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved.” Acts 15:11 His grace is love and it is what causes us to repent and come to Christ. We do not walk in fear or condemnation. Everything Jesus provided when He redeemed His bride was freely given and can be freely received. His redemption does not require work on our part, it is not contingent upon how much we pray, fast, read our Bible, or volunteer at the church. Nonetheless, the grace of GOD, HIS loving kindness, nor HIS free gift of redemption cannot stop a soul from walking away from Christ.
“It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” 2 Timothy 2:11-13
Notice this warning is to believers. If we remain steadfast in the faith to death, we shall live again with Christ. If we disown Him, He will disown us before the FATHER. Even if we do not remain in Him, He will remain faithful to Himself. We are free to repent and come back to Christ until He returns for His bride. Peace in our salvation is not reliant upon our belief in eternal security. Rather, “we are confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in us will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 Believing we are bound to the Ketubah and will eventually be forced into a marriage when Yeshua returns for His bride annuls our free will. Yeshua loves us, He asks us to covenant with Him, and to enter into the terms of the Ketubah. He does not demand a relationship with us nor does He force us to keep our word. He is coming back for a bride Without Spot or Wrinkle who is abiding in the Covenant of the Ketubah.
Repentance does not translate to perfection in our flesh. We are going to sin; it is in our human nature from the moment we are born. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 However, there is no sin too great the blood of Yeshua cannot wash away. In this we have been made perfect. If we believe we are perfect in the flesh we are deceived. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8 Paul said, “Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:3 As the bride of Christ, we are affectively disarmed by condemnation through sin. However, once we repent of our sins, we have confidence in GOD, HIS Word, and the blood of Yeshua. “If our hearts condemn us not, then have we confidence toward GOD.” 1 John 3:21 We do not continue to lay the same foundation of repentance.
“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.” Hebrews 6:1-3
Exposing the false teaching of eternal security is not intended to bring condemnation, but repentance to those who have turned their backs on Yeshua HaMashiach. This is not to say those who believe in eternal security are condemned if their hearts are right with Christ. Simply, they should not be falsely teaching others who have fallen away that they do not need to repent and come back to Christ. It does not matter if they were baptized as a child and gave their heart to Yeshua if they are living like the devil and cursing GOD. They are not abiding in Christ. Their sins can only be covered by the blood if they put them under the blood. They need to come back to Christ with true repentance. They need to turn from sin and be baptized in the name of the FATHER, Son, and Holy Spirit, and they need to remain in the faith.
Salvation is a free gift from GOD provided through the shed blood of HIS Son Yeshua HaMashiach, and sealed in the Ketubah which is His Word. It is written, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 It makes no difference what you have done. GOD loves you and sent HIS Son to redeem you. HIS Word says, “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Remember, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 Nonetheless, you must first confess your sins, repent, and confess the Lord Yeshua. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 If you would like to invite Christ into your heart, pray this prayer with me.
Lord Jesus Christ,
I confess that I am a sinner. I ask You to forgive me of my sins. I ask You to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Come into my heart today and be the Lord of my life. I will serve You, I will obey You, I will read Your Word, and I will follow You from this day forward all the days of my life. Jesus You are now my Lord, my Savior, and my Redeemer and now I am Your servant.
Amen
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
If you confessed this simple prayer and believed this in your heart, you have stepped from darkness into the glorious light of Jesus Christ. You are now walking in the Covenant of the Ketubah, and are identified with the bride of Christ. I encourage you to go to a Bible preaching church this week. Go to a church where the preacher gets up and preaches from the Word of GOD. A church where the preacher makes an alter call and gives the people an opportunity to be saved. That is where you will hear the gospel message. If you are in Israel, seek out a Messianic church for Jewish believers where you can walk in the knowledge of Christ and learn the foundation of salvation. Now, “JEHOVAH will bless you, and keep you: JEHOVAH will make HIS face shine upon you, and HE will be gracious unto you. JEHOVAH will lift up HIS countenance upon you, and give you peace.” Numbers 6:23-26 In the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach.
